Wanderlust

Film components were created and projected during a performance of "Wanderlust" at the Malthouse's Beckett Theatre in February 2004.

ABOUT THE PROJECT:

Wanderlust was originally staged by Girlstorey, a YWCA Victoria program - at the Melbourne Fringe Festival in 2003 where it received a nomination for Best Performance. Wanderlust was restaged as a bigger and more interactive production at the Beckett Theatre on February 11 & 12, 2004.

Long Shot Film Entertainment's award winning filmmaker, Katrina Mathers agreed to work with the participants to film a combination of Super 8 and video/text components to include in and compliment the performance.

Girlstorey is a YWCA Victoria program offering a community arts and resource centre for marginalised young women. The program offers participants the opportunity to be part of a community and to have a say by developing artistic and creative skills, as well as access resources and information.
