Since January 20, industry representatives have viewed all 723 entries and with enormous difficulty, have culled them down to the final 16. “The calibre of this year's entries reinforces my belief that the grassroots of the Australian film industry is booming. From a selection perspective, the entries have become better and better each year: the judging process was the most difficult we've ever had by far,” says John Polson, founder and creative director, Intel Tropfest. Of the 16 films, 8 of the filmmakers are from NSW, 5 from VIC and 3 are from WA. The films will make their premiere at Intel Tropfest on Sunday 23 February to an estimated audience of 150,000 people at venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Canberra, Hobart and Perth. |
