We are an Australian-based independent film, television, multimedia, video and DVD production company located in Melbourne. The Long Shot Film Entertainment team comprises a mix of talented individuals who come together for projects as required. No fuss. Great work. On time. On budget. We partner with The Lampshade Collective for Visual Effects, 3D Animation and Digital Art, and with the Cayarte Network for many International projects.

We made a DVD of Kate McLennan's Barry Award nominated Comedy Festival show "The Debutante Diaries", including a short edited highlights package as well as a tidied copy of the full show, credits and a contact page.


Congratulations to Project Greenlight WINNERS The MacRae Brothers who will now make their debut feature film with a million dollar budget. The boys directed the short film "No Mail" penned by Katrina Mathers and staring Rodney Affif and Susie Porter as part of the competition finals. Thanks to everyone for voting. You can watch their films online.


We've just finished working on a clip for Melbourne band Frost.

We've just authoured and produced a DVD for the City of Port Phillip to archive and celebrate the involvement of their staff and community during the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games.


We've just put together an electronic press kit for the marketing department of the St Kilda Festival.


Filmed at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival - Barb Joseph's "So I Married an Arab". As well as performances by Carolyn Chillura and Jenny Wynter.

We're mainly in the final stages of production on the 3D animated short film Nullarbor, being produced through our associated company The Lampshade Collective.

March/April 2010:

In the meantime, keep an eye out for: Gerard Cogley in the Melbourne International Comedy Festival (now), Dean Francis new feature film "Road Train" (soon), Fiona Harris appearing in "Tangle" and "The Librarians" (later in the year), Katrina Mathers appearing on "Wilfred Series II" (SBS Monday 19 April, 10pm) and the ABC's "Prank Patrol" (daily).

And "Vernon - On Cloud 9", an old animated short by Katrina Mathers is being featured in a new Channel 31 show called "The Animator's Club" April 2nd at 4pm and April 3rd at 1pm.

Almost all our work these days is being produced through our new venture: The Lampshade Collective - a new company that brings together a group of highly skilled world class 3D animators and visual effects artists to provide services to the film and television communities, and to develop and produce highly enteraining original content. Established by leading industry practioners: Daryl Munton, Patrick Sarell and Katrina Mathers the company has already established animpressive list of clients and credits, and has received support from Film Victoria for several projects.

N for Nally our short film staring Stig Weymss and 'Baby' John Burgess was invited to screen at Cinema Nova as part of a special program of award-winning shorts called "Warm Shorts for Winter" and has also been invited to show on the big screen at Federation Square.

The Lampshade Collective animators and producers are currently collaborating with Long Shot Film Entertainment writer/performer Gerard Cogley on a new animated short film called "A Scorpio Tale".

The Lampshade Collective. are in pre-production on an original fully 3d animated short film called Nullarbor. To be produced by Patrick Sarell and directed by Alister Lockart.

No Mail, the short film directed by Project Greenlight winning team the MacRae Brothers recently screened at Flickerfest on Bondi Beach as part of the Australian Shorts Program 2. Produced by Alex Mooney, based on a short film written by Katrina Mathers, it stars Susie Porter, Rodney Afif and Martin Vaghan. View the trailer here.

The Wedge Series I recently screened on the Comedy Channel. And The Wedge Series II has been screening on Channel 10. Tune in to Comedy Inc. The Late Shift on Channel 9. Book your tickets now to see the very popular Arj Barker show The Marijaunalogues which is now touring the Country.

We're in post-production on a range of TV pilot material for orignail comedy, entertainment and interactive proejcts. More details soon.

One of our interactive projects was recently participation in the development lab at X|Media|Lab in Melbourne.

June-July 2007

Our award winning short film N for Nelly staring Stig Wemyss and featuring the inimitable Baby John Burgess recently screened at ACMI as part of the WIFT annual showcase. Watch the film and vote online at the Portable Film Festival. The good folk down there are featuring the film again in their new "Coffee & Cigarettes" section..

Move!: Where Are You Going?, the world's first internet produced international feature has been participating in the Notodo Film Festival. The film had over 100,000 downloads in the first four weeks!!! We were involved in making the Australian component. Watch podcasts online at Notodo.
