Full Moon Project PROJECT OVERVIEW: 6 x 30 minute light entertainment/documentary series. General young adult audience. Aimed at commercial television release. Award winning filmmaker and actor Katrina Mathers is researching a proposed series about the Full Moon. Katrina is interested in talking to experts, sceptics, believers, astronomers, astrologers, theorists, hippies, werewolves, historians, emergency workers and ‘lunatics’ from all over the world about this age old phenomenon. She’s also interested in hearing from people of different faiths and religions, including Aboriginal Australians about the connection of the moon to the dreamtime and traditional life. The series aims to answer the question – is our mood or behaviour affected by the full moon? But it will also spend time documenting and examining all other things moon-related including facts like what defines a ‘blue moon’ etc, moon in history, science, religion, tradition, philosophy, medical research, gardening, fertility, the law, music and art. The series will be aided by evocative silent cinematic re-enactments of people’s stories & experiences, filmed by award winning cinematographer Marcus Dineen. CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS: Do you think the moon affects our mood or behaviour? Does the lunar cycle affect how you approach or plan your life? Do you work in emergency or medical services and have to deal with differences of behaviour due to the moon? Are you an artist or photographer who specialises in the full moon as a subject? Perhaps you're a physicist? Full Moon party planner? Animal carer? Lunar gardener? Surfer? Fertility specialist? Astronomer? Or a perhaps a phychiatric patient who has trouble dealing with skeptical doctors? Have you studied the effects of the moon, or could you help us set up some experiments to monitor brain activity, energy fields, physics or gravity and tide tests? We're interested to hear from people all over the world about their thoughts and experiences. |
