DYLAN PERRY - INTERACTIVE DESIGNER/WEB DEVELOPER/GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Dylan's career began in the nascent web design industry. In the wild west of the World Wide Web (circa 1998) he found himself designing and implementing the ALP election site. He worked on the site for many years and it incorporated many cutting edge technologies such as: streaming video, an interactive Java game and a custom-built search engine. (Modesty prevents him from trying to claim responsibility for the outcome of that election, however).

Though nepotism played a not insignificant part in securing early opportunities his (un)natural affinity for technology has held him in good
stead. Since then he’s been freelancing, primarily in the area of computer programming and networking. Recently Dylan has been working with a production company (3-D animation) which has seen him take on many roles, from system administrator to production pipeline developer.

Much of his recent work has been in the arcane art of network engineering, which sadly produces few visible results… though network diagrams
are of interest to a few. The result: a high performance web hosting system running out of a commercial co-location facility in Melbourne. He is eager to work on more creative and engaging web based and cross platform delivery projects.

Dylan’s last foray into web development was the Act3 Animation web site.

He has a side project which explores a more creative outlet of computer programming, it is known to insiders as 'the demoscene'. The most recent 'scene productions Dylan has been involved with through disasterarea include: run for your lives!; we are hfvf65uyhgnfb!; all i want for xmas...; and .au xmas compo invite 06. They are all examples of real-time computer generated graphics which can be downloaded and viewed on any fairly
modern PC.

LEE BALDWIN - MECHANIC/TECHNICAL ADVISOR, SWIRE AUTOMOTIVE

Lee's been Katrina's mechanic since she began driving in her Morris 1100 (that cost $30 to buy). He's a top aussie bloke and he's happy to help out with tips and advice and technical assistance. He also uses words like "gizmo" and "oomphf and bang" a lot.

He doesn't have a website coz he reckons he's busy enough.

REFERENCE SITES:

HelloDolly.info - NZ based manufacturer of toolkits for girls. Potential for cross promotion. Similar philosophy.
RACV's Free2Go - Great site, similar aims to Girl Mechanic. Launched only recently. Requires lot of reading though, buried in the funky graphics. We'd want to do a deal with them.
BugBitten.com - Travellers create their own website and have unlimited free space for uploads of video and photos etc to share with friends.
LonelyPlanet.tv - Melbourne based group. The site encourages users to upload their own travel videos & share their stories etc.
Girl Friday. - Australian based online site, young girl protagonist of weekly video, users can interact & have fun online.
Women Motorist. - Information and advertising targeted at the female driver. Offers some similar information, but very dry presentation.
VideoJug.com - downloadable DIY 'how to' videos, including things like 'how to change a car tyre'.
Nudie Juice - Product site loaded with so much more in terms of fun, design, branding, attitude and things to do.
Girl Friday. - Australian based online site, young girl protagonist of weekly video, users can interact & have fun online.
Tank Girl Comic character with loads of attitude. The hardcore version of an older chick mechanic.
TAC Make a Film Make a Difference. - This TAC scheme commissions short films aimed at empowering young drivers.
