Edinburgh They Said: Aussie Girls at the Fringe: a one hour documenatary currently in post production. Currently in post production is Cold an independent supernatural feature film thriller by writer/director Gerard Cogley. Starring Ian Dixon (Guinevere Jones), Katrina Mathers (Crazy Richard), Ferdinand Hoang (The Quiet American) Dave Grant and Sox Chen. Wanderlust "Wanderlust" reprise performances of the Melbourne Fringe Festival Best Performance production were sold out at the Malthouse's Beckett Theatre. A unique night of theatre, with media art and film components commissioned from Long Shot Film Entertainment's filmmaker Katrina Mathers who worked with editor and media artist Mark Brown of Arc Productions. Kiss Them All Soundly video coverage of the Chambers Theatre Company production starring Tamara Searle, directed by Jasper Bagg and written by Jason Cavanagh. Filmed during the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2003: The Whodunnit Radio Series. Conceived and directed by Laura Milke. September 2004: FLIPSIDE screened again on The Comedy Channel through August/September. August 2004 Katrina Mathers recently teamed up with producer Jannine Barnes of Happening Films to option the short screenplay "Dreams of Rage" by Sydney writer Donna Mok. Jannine and Katrina last year developed "One Out of the Box" a screenplay by Melbourne writer and actor Stig Wemyss. July 2004 Recently screened in Spain at the Mostra de Valencia Cinema del Mediterrani was the world premiere of the Spainish/Italian feature co-production feature film: "Move! Where Are You Going?" featuring stories from around the world. "Move! Where Are You Going?" features an Australian component written by much of the same team responsible for "Crazy Richard" and stars Dominic McDonald, Dean Francis, Katrina Mathers & Ivan Neville. June 2004 Premiering at the St Kilda Film Festival were the short films "Too Little Justice" directed by Dean Francis and produced by Justin Davies; and "Ray" starring Dylan Lewis, directed by Tony Mahony, produced by Jannine Barnes (featuring a 'don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-it' cameo from Katrina Mathers & Stig Wemyss). May 2004 David Blumenstein's much anticipated premiere screening of Herman The Legal Labrador took place (after a few technical hiccups) at the Old Magistrates Court in Melbourne as part of the Next Wave festival. AFI award-winning animator Jeremy Parker produced the film, which features the voices of Shaun Micallef, Santo Cilauro, Katrina Mathers, Adam Wajnberg, Adrian Calear and Duff.Kkeep checking the Herman website for info. The MAFIA Documentary Awards (Music and Film Independent Artists) were held recently at LOOP Bar in the city. MC'd by Katrina Mathers, the awards screened eight short documentary finalists and handed out some generous prizes before kicking on into the night with VJ Sex Pixels & DJ Critical Sound. The film has been picked up by Inflight Productions, which licenses to a number of International Airlines. Holly Salmons & Katrina Mathers have just returned from Aspen Shortsfest in Aspen, Colorado USA where “The Referees” was selected to screen from more than 1,500 entries. They wish to acknowledge assistance from Film Victoria and the Australian Film Commission respectively in funding them to attend. “The Referees” recently screened at The Comedy Channel short film festival, as part of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival.
